Military Families
Oakleaf High School supports our military-connected students and families.
Our Military and Family Life Counselor, (MFLC) is Lawanza Taylor. Ms. Taylor is a licensed counselor and was a military kid herself! She has been working as the MFLC at Oakleaf High School since 2019.
The MFLC program is designed to provide additional support to our military-connected students by addressing the unique lifestyle of military families.
Benefits to our students include easing transitions, meeting other military children who share similar circumstances, learning coping skills, and support through deployments and moving. Activities include lunch bunch groups and yellow ribbon ceremonies for deployments.
